It deserves its 4 stars. All in all, it was great place for traveling to Umtentweni. Green area so close to the hotel. A comfortable bed in our room. Moreover, there was free WiFi!

Charming and rich with history, my stay at Royston Hall Historical Guesthouse was a delightful escape. The breathtaking views from the tall windows and the comfortable king-size bed made me feel like I was in a treehouse. The breakfasts were incredible and the warm hospitality from Ria, the hostess, made me feel right at home. Despite a few minor maintenance issues mentioned in other reviews, the authenticity and character of this century-old guesthouse added to its charm. I highly recommend a stay at this amazing retreat. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely return.

Located on the peaceful South Coast, this historic guesthouse offers stunning views of the river and plenty of wildlife to enjoy. The breakfast offered here is very delicious and professionally presented. The staff are cheerful and incredibly welcoming, making their guests feel right at home with their upbeat energy.

While the guesthouse is full of character and history, the cleaning standards are not reliable, and the maintenance of the rooms needs improvement for the price paid. It is unfortunate that some parts of the guesthouse were not correctly maintained, as it detracts from what would otherwise be a lovely escape.

We loved the unique and dramatic location of this hotel, nestled by the river and surrounded by natural forests and trees. The antique furniture in the huge rooms and the beautifully decorated lounge transported us to another time. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the creative and delicious breakfast was a treat. Plus, the hotel had great parking and transportation options.

We recently stayed at a guesthouse for a business trip and were thoroughly impressed with the amenities offered. The rooms were well-insulated and we were able to enjoy a peaceful night's rest without being disturbed by outdoor noises. we appreciated the accommodating staff who went above and beyond to cater to our dietary restrictions. Lastly, the location of the guesthouse was convenient and easily accessible, making our travels hassle-free.

The room was not cleaned to our standard upon arrival and some items were not restocked properly. the breakfast served was not to our liking and lacked variety.
